Nearly everyone, at one time or another, has deleted or saved over a file they needed. The Windows recycle bin doesn't protect every file-most notably files deleted over the network, and it provides no protection against saving over earlier versions of files. We've all had occasion to open an important Word document or Excel spreadsheet intending to use it as a starting point for a new file and forgotten to rename it, losing hours or days of work the minute we saved the "new" file.
Traditionally, files had to be recovered from backup, a time-consuming task that doesn't always work for simple file retrieval. Undelete provides a safety net that captures all deleted files including files deleted across the network and it also provides automatic file version protection for Microsoft Office files. With Undelete 5.0, you don't have to worry about files that are accidentally (or maliciously) deleted, files that miss the recycle bin, files deleted over the network, files that don't make it on to your backup tapes or MS Office files you mistakenly saved over. There is nothing more frustrating than losing hours of hard work due to data loss. The most common forms of data loss occur when a file is accidentally deleted, or deleted intentionally by a malicious third party, in some cases a hacker. Data can not only be deleted locally but also across a network, a common problem in large networks with mishandled permissions.
Undelete 4.0 is designed to prevent these occurrences from happening. Undelete 4.0 first replaces the recycle bin with the recovery bin, which stores all deleted files, including those that are usually instantly deleted, such as files deleted over a network. Undelete 4.0 users can restore deleted files from their own desktop recovery bin, or use a new feature called the server recovery bin. This allows users to recover files over a network by accessing a server recovery bin without having to seek help from the network admin.
Undelete 4.0 Also includes some data recovery software called emergency undelete, allowing users to recover files deleted before Undelete was installed. When data is deleted from drive, the reference is simply removed from the file allocation table, and the data is intact. If this section of the disk is written over, the file is unrecoverable. A good rule to follow when recovering data is to minimize or discontinue use of the affected drive until the recovery process can begin. Undelete 4.0 also includes a Secure Delete function which uses algorithms developed for the National Security Agency and Department of Defense. These algorithms will ensure that that file is unrecoverable even by the most advanced data recovery techniques.
Undelete 4.0 is an excellent solution for large networks where file loss is a common occurrence. Undelete 4.0 works to eliminate data loss before it can occur, and in the rare case it does occur, Undelete has all of the bases covered by offering data recovery functions to salvage that data.
